Rutronik offers the new PS-66u Security Upgrade Kit by Swissbit with an industry-standard microSD card of security level 2 – an optimal retrofit solution for Linux-based embedded systems. It protects critical data against theft, copying and manipulation thanks to an easy-to-use, configurable access control mechanism and data protection at the partition level. The kit is an optimal option for applications in critical infrastructure and the public sector to provide secure and uninterrupted operation. It is available in capacities from 16GB to 64GB and as a full industrial BOM PS-66u DP, including technical application support.

Swissbit's flash controller and advanced firmware make these special security features possible. CmReady – prepared for immediate use with WiBu-Systems CodeMeter (software protection and licence management), the upgrade kit is excellent for retrofitting existing systems, allowing the individual configuration of protection profiles and supplying additional protection through real-time AES 256 flash memory self-encryption.

Optimised FW algorithms make it particularly suited to applications with high read access and long data storage (ten years at the beginning of its lifespan and one year at the end of its lifespan). It also features patented technology for reliable switching off, wear levelling and write endurance technology and read-disturb management.

The 15mm x 11mm x 0.7mm (1) mm SD card is fully compliant with the SD Memory Card Specification 6.10. The kit provides an SDHC standard/high-speed mode, supports UHC and is available in speed classes 10/U3/V30/A1 according to the SD6.10 specification.

Target applications include retrofitting data protection (confidentiality and integrity); retrofitting secure boot for existing products (Integrity protection); critical infrastructure, such as energy and water supply, transport, medical care; industrial IT and OT; and public institutions and authorities.
