SMD wire-wound resistor series features high power ratings

08-01-2025 | Bourns | Passives

Bourns, Inc. has introduced its latest family of SMD wire-wound resistors. Featuring high power ratings (up to 10W) and high pulse withstanding capabilities, the Bourns Model PWR6927/8030/8937/A247/B053 Series is created to help designers fulfil the increased reliability and stability needed in discharge and pre-charge circuits used in solar power, motor control, telecommunication, SMPS, and ESS applications.

Based on the series’ advanced SMD architecture and its higher surge withstanding capability, the company’s new family of wire-wound resistors supplies a lower inductive solution that decreases interference with magnetic fields compared to standard through-hole, thick film resistors, thin film resistors, and conventional wire-wound resistors. Also, the models in this series are UL 94V-0 and Substances of Very High Concern (SVHC) compliant, which aid in meeting various application safety requirements.

The Bourns Model PWR6927/8030/8937/A247/B053 Series is available now and is RoHS compliant with a halogen-free option.
