Hirose has extended its compact, high-speed I/O connector family by introducing the HR22K Series. The robust connector uses a unique and user-friendly push-on bayonet lock with an audible click, ensuring a safe and secure connection. Simply push the plug in to complete mating, then rotate the sleeve to release the lock.

Featuring a metal shell, the waterproof series is IPX7 compliant when mated, providing excellent protection against water and oil ingress. This makes it outstanding for applications in harsh conditions. The connector also has a spiral-type strain relief design, improving cable protection against bending and ensuring excellent durability. This makes the series perfect for interface connections in small spaces.

Supporting Cat.5e (1Gbps) high-speed transmission, the series I/O connector is typically used in industrial automation and manufacturing applications, including CNCs/PLCs, machine tools, robotics, and semiconductor manufacturing.

“Designed for harsh environment applications, the HR22K Series push-on bayonet lock connectors offer a unique combination of compact design, robust environmental protection, and user-friendly operation,” said Pete Lais, assistant vice president of Product Management for Hirose Electric Americas. “Supporting CAT5e performance, these connectors can handle the high-speed data transmission requirements of Industry 4.0 applications.”
