Refrigerant IR gas detectors for HVAC systems, data centres and industrial facilities

Mouser Electronics Inc. now stocks the Axiom series refrigerant IR gas detectors from SST Sensing. Developed with patented non-dispersive IR technology, the Axiom detectors attain and exceed gas detection requirements in even the most demanding environmental conditions. The series detectors quickly detect leakages and unexpected emissions of refrigerants utilised in HVAC systems, chillers and heat pumps, refrigeration systems, data centres, manufacturing and industrial facilities, and cold chain logistics.

The gas detectors are UL60335-2-40 and IEC60335-2-40 certified, supporting new regulations aimed at decreasing the global warming potential (GWP) associated with emissions of refrigerants used in air conditioners and heat pumps. The detector series includes detectors for flammable (A3, A2, and A2L) and non-flammable (A1) refrigerants, including R32, R454B, R454C, R290 (propane), R1270 (propylene), and R744 (carbon dioxide). The refrigerant IR gas detectors provide fail-safe operation, are immune to poisoning, and feature improved EMC protection to maintain accuracy in challenging environmental applications. Each refrigerant IR gas detector contains all the required optics, electronics, and firmware to provide a linearised, temperature-compensated output. An IP68-rated USB-C connector provides for off-the-shelf cabling options.
