XP Power brings the ultimate flexibility to chassis mount power solutions with the release of its new HDA1500 series, which will be ideal for a wide range of applications across a wide spectrum of industries.
In areas such as robotics, lasers, LED heating and semiconductor manufacturing, the device delivers a versatile and efficient solution with digital control and communication benefits and a comprehensive range of status LEDs.
Advanced digital control in power solutions has not always been widely available. The dev changes this by supplying precise digital adjustment of output current and voltage from 0-105%, which puts the user in complete control.
Rated for 1.5kW of power with no minimum load requirement, the new supplies offer up to 93% efficiency. This decreases waste heat, providing a more compact form factor and lowering operating costs. Where more power is needed in a rack, the units can easily be operated in parallel with active current sharing.
The advanced digital control that is built in as standard is key to the flexibility of the series. Conveniently driven by a GUI, the power supply can be adjusted via several digital protocols, including PMBus, RS485 / 232, MODBUS and Ethernet, allowing easy integration into more advanced power control schemes.
The units operate from a universal single-phase mains input (90 to 264VAC) and offer one of the widest single rail output selections on the market, covering all popular voltages between 12VDC and 400VDC in a suite of eleven units. The units can deliver more power at low-line operation than many competitive offerings.
Operating from -25C to +60C, the units need no derating below 50C. A comprehensive range of protection features are built-in, including overtemperature, overload, overvoltage and short circuit.
A useful 5VDC/1A standby supply rail is supplied to keep external circuitry alive when the main supply is powered down. Remote sense is another useful feature, especially where power cables are extended.
The units are approved to a comprehensive suite of ITE-related approvals, including EN55032 Class A and EN61000-3-x for emissions as well as EN61000-4-x for immunity. Safety approvals include IEC/UL/EN62368-1 and all applicable CE and UKCA directives.
The HDA1500’s excellent programmability, scalability, digital controls, and ITE safety approvals offer the desired flexibility for application-specific solutions in test and measurement, factory automation, process control, semiconductor fabrication and renewable energy systems.
