Amphenol RF has introduced the new RP-SMA bulkhead jack to AMC4 plug micro-miniature cable assembly into its robust and wide portfolio of fixed-length cable assemblies. The specially engineered design of the AMC4 right-angle plug allows it to be used in applications where space is at a premium. The RP-SMA IP67-rated bulkhead jack ensures waterproof protection in mated and unmated conditions, delivering unrelenting connectivity in harsh outdoor environments. Available in standard lengths of 50mm to 400mm, the flexible 1.13mm coaxial cable attached to the jack and plug is ultra-thin and lightweight, allowing easy routing in compact applications. Supporting frequencies of up to 6GHz, these high-performance assemblies are excellent for innovative and demanding applications such as IoT, GPS and wireless communication modules.
The body of the RP-SMA bulkhead jack is machined brass which is gold-plated to provide corrosion resistance, and the beryllium copper contact is also gold-plated to supply reliable performance. The sleeve, inner ferrule, lock washer and hex nut are made from nickel-plated brass. The insulator and insulator disc are crafted from PTFE, while the gasket and O-ring are silicone rubber. AMC4 plugs are made from gold-plated phosphor bronze, while the insulator is moulded from PBT. The versatile 1.13mm micro coaxial cable meets the VW-1 flammability rating.
These assemblies are created to satisfy the growing demand for RF interconnects, providing engineers with versatile solutions for unprecedented designs. They join an increasing portfolio of cable assemblies available as off-the-shelf solutions. Custom lengths are available upon request.
