Mouser now stocks the ENS220 barometric pressure and temperature sensor from ScioSense. Offering a 1kHz data rate, the sensor is housed in a small 2mm x 2mm x 0.75mm LGA package with digital I2C and SPI interfaces. The single-die sensor supplies low power performance and outstanding resistance to environmental conditions, making it an excellent choice for activity-tracking applications, including wearables, indoor localisation, and AR/VR. The sensor also supports liquid level detection, blood pressure measurement, and HVAC applications with filter clogging detection.

The barometric pressure and temperature sensor combines a capacitive pressure sensor into a CMOS ASIC. Supplying high intrinsic pressure sensitivity, the all-CMOS sensor delivers unprecedented low-pressure noise, while the device’s integrated temperature sensor equals the performance of dedicated temperature measurement devices. The sensor combines a highly accurate pressure reading with a short conversion time, making the sensor an excellent option for height measurements with a high output data rate and bandwidth.

The sensor is supported by the ENS220-LG_EK_ST ENS220 evaluation kit. The evaluation kit includes an ENS220 break-out board, a micro-USB to I2C converter, and a USB cable, enabling it to connect to a PC. Downloadable GUI software allows users to configure the sensor’s parameters and demonstrate measurements.
