Fully RoHS compliant DDR5 memory modules launched

Intelligent Memory has expanded its family of DDR5 memory modules with fully RoHS-compliant RDIMM, UDIMM and SODIMM DDR5 modules now offered in commercial and industrial temperature ranges.

With these new modules, manufacturers of long-life electronic products do not have to rely on extensions of the 7c-I exemption to the RoHS directive, particularly since new exemptions are granted for shorter periods.

“The list of harmful substances, chemicals and materials keeps getting longer. Keeping track of all exceptions and exemptions is cumbersome and time-consuming, said David Raquet, global VP sales and marketing at Intelligent Memory. “Being able to cross off one item from this list is very valuable to customers, especially if they are designing long-life products like many of our industrial and embedded customers.”

The company addresses this demand with its new fully RoHS-compliant DDR5 modules, which use less than 0.01% lead or other harmful substances. The new DDR5 modules come in 16GB and 32GB capacities, 5600MHz clock frequency, and SO-DIMM, UDIMM, and RDIMM form factors.

The company is one of the few memory manufacturers that offers DRAM components and DRAM modules, and a customisable NAND flash memory portfolio.
