Mouser now stocks the Sentrius MG100 Gateway from Laird Connectivity. Based on a Laird Connectivity Pinnacle 100 cellular modem, the gateway integrates long-range Bluetooth 5 and LTE-M/NB-IoT connectivity in a small-form-factor IoT micro-gateway.

The gateway captures data from Bluetooth 5-enabled sensors and transmits to the cloud via an LTE-M/NB-IoT connection. The gateway integrates a Nordic Semiconductor nRF52840 SoC with its Arm Cortex-M4F core providing full Bluetooth 5 communication capabilities. The modem also offers LTE-M/NB-IoT connectivity through an integrated Sierra Wireless HL7800 and, for hostless design simplicity, allows application development straight on the microcontroller using Zephyr RTOS. The gateway incorporates regulatory approvals for FCC, ISED, and CE and cellular approvals PTCRB, GCF and AT&T to date, with further carrier certifications to come.

Mouser also provides the Laird Connectivity MG100 Wireless IoT Starter Kit which includes a Sentrius MG100 Gateway and three Sentrius BT510 sensors. The kit’s three Sentrius BT510 sensors allow reliable wireless sensor data transfer even in severe environments with their innovative IP67-rated enclosures. The sensors incorporate a multi-function sensor (temperature, motion/shock, and open/close contact) platform and is based on the company's field-proven long-range BL654 module. The ultra-low-power sensor is powered by a replaceable CR2477 coin cell battery, allowing multi-year performance with simple, intuitive maintenance.

The gateway and starter kit are excellent for multi-wireless IoT applications where long-range Bluetooth sensors bridge straight to the cellular network without the requirement to access any local network infrastructure. Target applications include cold chain transportation monitoring, long-range battery-powered sensors, predictive maintenance, and IIoT.
