Mouser now stocks the UNO R4 microcontroller board from Arduino. The board is powered by the Renesas RA4M1 32-bit Arm Cortex-M4 processor, providing a clock speed of 48MHz for higher processing power.
To accommodate more complex projects, the board includes 32kB of SRAM and 256kB of flash memory. The microcontroller core provides an FPU, bringing a considerable performance boost for specific applications. The microcontroller board offers an excellent prototyping and embedded platform for various applications, including industrial automation, IoT devices, robotics, weather monitoring, smart agriculture, and AI.
The board is presented in two variants, the basic UNO R4 Minima and the comprehensive UNO R4 WiFi, to fulfil the budgetary and creative requirements of the user. For users desiring a boost in processing power without the extra features, the UNO R4 Minima supplies a cost-effective option. The UNO R4 WiFi includes an Espressif S3 Wi-Fi module for Wi-Fi and BLE connectivity. It also provides a bright 12x8 red LED matrix, ideal for plotting sensor data without additional display hardware. With a wide variety of compatible modules that can be connected via the Qwiic I2C connector, incorporated with the large ecosystem of shields for UNO already in the market, the UNO R4 WiFi offers an unprecedented plug-and-play experience that permits the creation of projects without soldering, breadboards, or manual wiring. For more advanced users, there are extra pins to turn off the microcontroller while keeping the RTC powered by an external buffer battery.
The board provides increased processing power and memory to support complex tasks and calculations, while the board’s 5V operating voltage allows easy integration with existing projects and components. It maintains the same form factor as the UNO R3, providing compatibility with existing shields and accessories. Software scalability is also supported on the board, enabling easy upgrades for projects made with UNO R3 or Leonardo.
