In electronics manufacturing, workshops, and R&D facilities, Weller’s latest solder fume extraction system, available now from Conrad Electronic, protects the health of the workforce. Furthermore, cleaner air makes breathing easier and helps workers focus.
The ZeroSmog Shield Pro has a compact design that allows the use at individual soldering stations. It features innovative technology that protects against harmful particles and gases created and released due to the soldering process. The newly developed product for improved solder fume extraction also frees up space because its compactness means it can be stacked with all common soldering stations sized 130mm x 180mm.
Facing towards the worktop and operating at extremely low noise levels, the new system extracts solder fumes by generating a seamlessly adjustable airflow channelled through a cleverly designed duct. It cleans up the air using an EPA E10 filter that also contains activated carbon, therefore, improving the air quality at the workplace. The system uses a filter status indicator that turns from green to red, to tell you whether it’s time to change the filter. When it comes to the change itself, the product has been created to make this a simple procedure.
If using a Weller soldering station, there is another advantage: these stations can be directly connected to the fume extraction system. This means users can make the most of the 'Stop & Go' function that automatically starts the filtration when using the iron, and turns the system off when done. Also, for everyone who uses the system in a professional capacity, the product complies with the highest industry standards. The system features an antistatic housing, making it ESD-safe and suitable for use in EPA workplaces.
