Review Display Systems has introduced of a new Standard IoT Gateway System from AAEON. The SRG-TG01 Gateway features 11th-generation Intel Core i7, i5, i3 and Celeron SoC processors and facilitates the connection of IoT devices and sensors to cloud-based computing and data processing systems.

Designed and developed to provide improved performance and capabilities in IoT applications, the system is a gateway platform that allows connectivity and bi-directional data flow between the cloud and IoT devices.

The system supports two SO-DIMM slots for DDR4 3200Mhz memory up to 64GB and provides storage expansion with M.2 PCIe SSD up to 2TB of capacity. Other integrated input/output features comprise four USB 3.2 interfaces, one HDMI 2.0b output, a two-channel 2.0B CAN bus interface, RS232, RS422, and RS485 serial ports and an eight-channel digital I/O.

The gateway platform offers three Ethernet wireless LAN ports, one 2.5Gbps and two 1Gbps, with further expansion slots available for supporting wireless network communications, including Bluetooth 5.0, Wi-Fi 802.11 and 3G, 4G and 5G mobile network protocols.

Peter Marchant, embedded business manager, RDS said, “IoT devices such as gateways, are used to connect edge devices, such as remote sensors, to the data processing systems in the cloud. Data transmission between these devices needs secure protection. The SRG-TG01 can provide support for data protection by implementing up-to-date security protocols and algorithms used for data-in-transit encryption.”

With the implementation of Intel Iris Xe graphics, the GPU can be used to power a broad range of industrial edge computing applications. The rugged construction provides a fanless design that minimises dust and foreign contaminants.

The solution is a Microsoft Azure-certified device. Microsoft Azure IoT-certified devices are subjected to a functionality and interoperability process that authenticates device capabilities against specific certification programs. Further, it uses the Windows 10 IoT Enterprise operating system.

With external mechanical dimensions of 207mm (l) x 155mm (w) x 72mm (h), the optional DIN rail and wall-mounting kits allow it to be employed in various application environments. An operating temperature range of 0C to 60C is supported.
