Silicon PIN photodiode for health monitoring applications

Mouser now stocks the SFH 2704A silicon PIN photodiode from ams OSRAM.

The photodiode is created for health monitoring applications like heart rate monitoring and pulse oximetry. It comes in a small 2mm x 1.8mm x 0.6mm clear epoxy package. This device offers optimised energy consumption, lowering the LED driver current to ensure a longer battery life in wearables. The photodiode offers a spectral range of sensitivity from 400nm to 1100nm, making it excellent for a variety of applications, including smartwatches for vital data monitoring or digital diagnostic devices in the medical sector.

Applications for the photodiode include PPG, SpO2, blood pressure monitoring, heart rate monitoring, pulse oximetry, machine and vision controls, rain sensors, glucometers and other medical equipment.
