The Electropages team met with Walter Puhl from Avnet Silica at Embedded World 2024, where they discussed the versatility and interoperability of Matter—a new smart home standard designed to ensure seamless communication across devices from different manufacturers. 

Walter highlighted a multivendor Matter demo, showcasing devices like the Apple HomePod, Google Nest Hub, and Amazon Echo, all connected through Matter to various development boards from Panasonic, NXP, and ST. This demo exemplified Matter's ability to operate over different networks, such as Thread and Wi-Fi, illustrating its potential to simplify smart home and smart building applications by ensuring robust, secure, and future-proof connectivity. 

During the demonstration, Walter stressed the importance of Matter's capability to integrate with a wide range of hardware platforms, ensuring interoperability and enhanced security features vital for modern IoT applications. This display at Embedded World 2024 not only confirmed the functional efficacy of Matter in a multi-device environment but also highlighted Avnet Silica's commitment to advancing IoT technology by facilitating easier, more secure, and scalable deployments in the smart home sector.
