N-channel IGBT for harsh-environment automotive ignition systems

25-08-2015 | Mouser Electronics | Semiconductors

Aimed at applications such as automotive ignition coil driver circuits and coil-on-plug systems, Fairchild Semiconductor's FGD3325G2_F085 EcoSPARK 2 N-Channel Ignition IGBT is now stocked by Mouser. The device is designed with Fairchild's EcoSPARK-2 technology which helps to eliminate external protection circuitry. The technology is optimized for driving the coil in the harsh environment of automotive ignition systems and offers out-standing Vsat and SCIS Energy capability also at elevated operating temperatures. The logic level gate input is ESD protected and features an integrated gate resistor. An integrated Zener-circuitry clamps the IGBT's collector-to-emitter voltage at 250V which enables systems requiring a higher spark voltage.
