Mouser is now stocking Si8920 isolated amplifiers from Silicon Labs. The
analog Si8920 amplifiers deliver robust galvanic isolation and the
industry’s highest bandwidth and lowest signal delay. The amplifiers’
low-voltage (±100mV or ±200mV) differential input is ideal for measuring
voltage across a current shunt resistor or for any place where a sensor must
be isolated from the control system, such as in industrial motor drives. The
AEC-Q100-compliant amplifiers are ideal for use in harsh environments such
as solar inverters, high-voltage power converters, uninterruptible power
supplies (UPS), and electric/hybrid-electric vehicle (EV/HEV) systems.
The Si8920 uses proprietary CMOS-based isolation technology, which supports
up to 5kV withstand and 1200V working voltage, and offers a wider operating
temperature range, better noise immunity, and longer lifetimes than
competing isolation technologies. The amplifiers feature very low 0.75µs
signal delay, allowing control systems to respond quickly to fault
conditions or changes in load. The amplifiers’ low 1 µV/C offset drift
ensures stable performance over the entire operating temperature range of
40C to +125C. The Si8920 amplifiers’ high common-mode transient immunity
maintains accurate measurements even in the presence of high-power
switching. The amplifiers’ industry-leading signal bandwidth (up to 750kHz)
ensures rapid, precise DC current measurement and accurate representation of
the primary signal and harmonics.
Mouser is also stocking the Silicon Labs Si8920ISO-KIT evaluation kit, which
helps designers test the Si8920 amplifier against a user-connected shunt
resistor. The kit features test points for monitoring the inputs, outputs,
and supplies for the device and includes surface mount component pads for
input or output filtering circuits.
