Mouser is now stocking the new Intel Quark microcontroller D1000, designed for Internet of Things (IoT) architectures and applications. Announced at Intel’s IoT Insights event in San Francisco, along with Intel Quark microcontroller D2000 and the Intel Quark™ SE microcontroller for IoT, this new technology extends intelligent computing to a new spectrum of data actuation applications and devices that require lower power consumption. The Intel Quark processors are designed to provide exceptional user experience through scalability across the Intel portfolio of products. The microcontroller family simplifies design and reduces bill of materials (BOM) by minimizing external components required on the platform. By developing on Intel Quark technology for edge devices, solutions providers can deploy compatible software throughout the solution to tie different pieces together. The D1000 is optimized for applications that require long battery life, such as wearable sensors and RFID tags. This 32MHz, ultra-low power, 32-bit microcontroller contains 32kBytes of flash and 8kBytes of SRAM. Its comparators and analog-to-digital converters (ADCs) make it easy to connect to transducers and RF front ends, and the serial peripheral interfaces allow for seamless connection with popular sensors, radios, memories, DSPs and application processors. The Intel Quark microcontroller D2000 is an advanced version of the D1000, offering more I/O and providing ultra-low power, 32MHz, 32-bit x86 functionality. The D2000 features two PWM channels and an extended operating temperature range (-40 degrees Celsius to +85 degrees Celsius). The Intel Quark SE microcontroller for IoT is a premier 32MHz, 32-bit x86 microcontroller that offers high-efficiency power consumption. It contains 384kBytes of flash and 80kBytes of SRAM, and embodies all of the features of the D2000, plus an always-listening sensor hub and pattern-matching technology. Both the D2000 and SE microcontrollers come with a full Intel x86 instruction set architecture for compatibility and scalability. Tanya Pelletier, senior product manager, Quark Solutions Division, Intel, said: "We are pleased and proud to debut our new Intel Quark microcontrollers through Mouser Electronics. We appreciate the personal attention Mouser's professionals afford both customers and manufacturers and are excited about getting this new product into the hands of design engineers." "Mouser is excited to offer the new Intel Quark processor for immediate shipping to our customers," added Russell Rasor, vice president, supplier management, advanced technologies, Mouser.
