Panasonic APS1 Series PhotoIC Coupler integrates an AlGaAs LED and an intelligent optical sensor and signal processor to transmit light signals while allowing electrical insulation. It is available now from Mouser. This device is designed for high-speed transmission of signals between industrial equipment such as motors and programmable logic controllers (PLCs).
The device is capable of creating isolation to protect circuits for high-speed communication with a transfer rate of up to 50Mbps using TTL output logic. The coupler also has a high noise immunity of 15kV/µs and an isolation voltage of 3750Vrms. The coupler is offered in a compact 4.4mm x 4.3mm package size with a low 2.1mm profile, ideal for space constrained applications.
