Mouser now stocks the XBT-3535 UVB/UVC surface mount LEDs from Luminus Devices. Solidifying itself as one of the leaders and pioneers in UV LEDs while having one of the most complete product portfolios in the industry, the company has now added a groundbreaking solution that provides multiple wavelength options (or variants) with the launch of its Gen2 XBT-3535 series of UVB/UVC surface mount LEDs. Redefining the boundaries of performance and versatility, these LEDs provide several wavelengths that supply massive improvements in overall performance, surface disinfection efficiency and cost-effectiveness.

The LEDs expand upon the company's existing UVA and near-UV portfolio of 365nm, 385nm, 395nm, 405nm, and 415nm LEDs by adding Gen2 wavelengths in the UVC range of 265nm and 275nm, and new UBV options in the 285nm, 308nm and 340nm range. Available in mid and high-power options, the integrated chip-onboard design of the series provides maximum adaptability, optimum cooling and easy system integration into a wide range of UVB and UVC-based LED designs, providing a luminous/radiant flux range of 14mW to 70mW and a forward voltage range of 4.6V to 6.2V.

The expanded wavelengths, such as the 265nm variant, specifically help address air, water and surface application areas needing higher disinfection efficiency and performance. The 265nm variant in the series touts an impressive output power of more than 60mW at 500mA. On the UBV side, the 285nm variant delivers an output power exceeding 85mW at 500mA. The 308nm variant (available in a cost-effective 'Mini' version with a smaller illumination area and lower power) provides an output power of more than 30mW at 150mA. Rounding off the company's UBV solutions is the 308nm variant, which stands out with its exceptional 90mW output at 500mA power offering.

The XBT-3535 UVB/UVC LEDs are offered in a 3.5mm x 3.5mm package with an optically transparent window (1414; 3535 metric size). The LEDs are designed using a standard SMT process with a 130° viewing angle and are presented in forward current options of 150mA, 500mA or 800mA. The devices are RoHS and REACH compliant and have an 8000V ESD sensitivity based on ANSI/ESDA/JEDEC JS-001 (HBM, Class 3B) standards.

Target applications include analytical instruments for life sciences and medical equipment, UV curing, blood gas measurements, phototherapy, solar panel testers, water/air/surface disinfection, fluorescence spectroscopy, horticulture, healthcare, and food and pharmaceutical processing.
