New tap-to-transfer module enables quick download of digital content between two devices

Mouser now stocks the TJM35420XLQ TransferJet compliant wireless module from Toshiba. Designed to address the needs of the rapidly growing market for proximity wireless applications, the module contains RF components and a crystal oscillator to simplify the design of TransferJet applications. It is a tap-and-transfer solution that uses fast 375Mbps transfer speed to enable quick downloads of digital content between two devices. The ultra-small module incorporates wireless IC, which implements TransferJet functions with wireless, digital-signal-processing, host-interface, and memory-interface functions. The technology uses close proximity wireless transfer technology to allow large volumes of data, media or video to be shared securely at speeds over five times’ faster than Wi-Fi. As a close proximity wireless system that radiates very low-power radio waves, it causes virtually no interference to other wireless systems and maintains performance even if others are using TransferJet nearby. Engineers can easily add the low-power module to smartphones, tablets, cameras, and many other designs while minimizing the use of board space. The module supports both Android and iOS and requires no complex setup, device pairing or the use of access points. End users can simply touch together two enabled devices to transfer files. The module is ideal for a variety of home, office, vehicle and mobile applications, including cameras, car navigation systems, data synchronization, and document printing.
