Flat panel displays specifically designed for the COTS defence marketplace

Sparton Corporation has launched a new 24" high-resolution bulkhead/console mount flat panel display. The model 8824 is part of Aydin's Commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) Defense Series, which feature a range of flat panel displays specifically designed for the COTS defence marketplace. "The Aydin 8824 model is a high performance, military grade display that is packed with an abundant amount of features and designed for severe defence environments. The rugged design of the unit makes it a perfect fit for a number of military applications such as shipboard, airborne and ground mobile," stated Louis Houde, general manager of Rugged Electronics. The display is designed and built to high military standards which require a solid and reliable mechanical design to protect the unit against shock, vibration and extreme environments in a variety of multi-platforms. The 8824's bulkhead mount allows the unit to be hard mounted on any US Navy ship. The display comes standard with PCAP Touchscreen but has options for Resistive or No Touch (EMI Window Only). The display is high resolution (1920 x 1200) and features an LED Backlight, convenient front controls and a wide viewing angle with multiple video inputs (DVI-D and VGA).
