RS Components has announced the availability of a development kit from Honeywell that enables the simple evaluation of sensors. The Honeywell SEK001 sensor board does not require the development of code before receiving sensor measurements, allowing developers to start testing and prototyping right away.
Ideal for sensor demonstration, testing and evaluation purposes, the device is essentially an Arduino shield board, which can interface a chosen individual sensor to the Arduino Uno (Rev3) microcontroller board. The selected sensor can either be mounted directly on the SEK001 board, or connected via leads enabling the sensor to be tested in adverse environments, or in a prototype product for proof-of-concept testing.
The kit includes the sensor evaluation board and five jumpers that are preconfigured to evaluate the on-board Honeywell HSCDRRN001ND2A5 5V DC differential pressure sensor. The SEK001 also has sockets to receive the company's TruStability HSC and SSC series pressure sensors, which come with an I2C or SPI digital output, as well as the new TruStability RSC series of high-resolution pressure sensors.
