Casambi has introduced a new Class 2 embedded Bluetooth 4.0 module that is designed for LED lighting control applications, light fixtures and LED bulbs. The CBM-002A/B provides an upgrade on the company’s CBM-001 module, as the new device integrates a powerful 32-bit ARM Cortex-M4 processor, along with a 2.4GHz BLE transceiver, and two antenna options.
The new module is available in two variants: the CBM-002A has a chip antenna, whereas the CBM-002B comes with a pin antenna. The CBM-002A is 100% compatible and is a drop-in replacement for the CBM-001 module, while the CBM-002B offers pin compatibility with the previous device. Different external components such as motion detectors, ambient light sensors and PWM circuits, can be interfaced with the module via its 12 general-purpose I/O pins.
Timo Pakkala, CEO of Casambi, commented: “The new Casambi CMB-002 module is a powerful addition to an armoury of easy-to-use Bluetooth-based solutions that LED lighting providers can use to develop systems that are simple and convenient to control via smart devices.”
