RFID reader offers one module for all variants

Elatec RFID Systems has developed the TWN4 MultiTech 3 BLE, a new reader module that supports all common RFID standards as well as BLE and NFC. Manufacturers of devices for access control, charging stations, POS, parking space management, fitness and time-tracking can enjoy maximum flexibility when they integrate the device. It does not matter what kind of transponders and standards customers use while developing solutions, and multiple product variants do not have to be developed for various RFID standards. The new reader module supports all current RFID standards for the frequency ranges 125kHz and 134.2kHz as well as the 13.56MHz band, including NFC. The latter, when merged with BLE, can allow iPhones and Android smartphones to be used for identification and wallet solutions. As a PCB, designed for space-saving purposes, the device is more compact than its predecessors. The 50mm x 35mm x 7mm module can be delivered with customised protective housing. Upon request, additional interfaces can be implemented, such as CAN bus and OSDP/RS485 for industrial applications.
