Independently certified test PSAP system based on wireless communications test platform

08-01-2018 | Rohde & Schwarz | Automotive & Transport

The eCall test solution from Rohde and Schwarz is claimed to be the first of its class to be certified by an independent test body. CETECOM has studied the implementation of the eCall test public safety answering point (PSAP) in the company's solution for the pan-European emergency call system and certified it as compliant with the CEN EN 16454:2015 standard. The CMW-KA094 test solution is claimed to be the first independently certified test PSAP system based on a wireless communications test platform. This market-first certification of an eCall test solution by an independent body shows that the company is a reliable partner for the automobile industry – the majority of leading global OEMs use the R&S CMW500 wideband radio communication tester and rely on their field-proven test solution. The company is developing test features for the next generation eCall over LTE system, too and making the corresponding solution fit for tomorrow and for testing new vehicle telematics units.
