Vector network analyser capabilities added to low-cost credit-card-sized, reconfigurable instrument

19-02-2018 | Red Pitaya | Test & Measurement

Red Pitaya is pioneering the move to open-source, low cost, reconfigurable instrumentation with its credit-card-sized STEMlab platform has launched a VNA new bridge module and application that allows STEMLab to operate an affordable VNA, a precision measuring tool that tests the electrical performance of high-frequency components in the radio frequency. STEMlab is a test and measurement environment that comprises an application marketplace, a board, and a source code library. It is created as a low-cost option to many expensive measurement and control instruments. It can operate as a Logic Analyser, Signal Generator, Oscilloscope, Spectrum Analyser and more, also accomplishing other tasks, now including vector network analysis. Rok Mesar, CEO, comments: “Our Vector Network Analyser running on STEMlab is great solution that enables engineers to test and optimize the performance of antennas, RF filters, RF switches, couplers and cables. It is the perfect tool for professionals seeking affordable, highly functional test and measurement equipment, educators, students, makers, hobbyists and HAMRADIO amateurs.”
