Latest series of SSDs designed around leading-edge flash memory

RS Components offers the new SSD 860 range of SSDs from Samsung. Based on the manufacturer's 3D V-NAND MLC flash-memory technology, the range improves on the company’s highly popular SSD 850 range of SSDs to deliver enhanced speed, reliability and capacity for users. The new SSDs are offered in two series: the PRO series, targeting use with high-end and enterprise computing devices; and the EVO series, specially designed for general consumer computing applications. The series also gives guaranteed endurance and high reliability with the industry's highest rating of 4800TB TBW - in compliance with JESD218 standards - approximately eight times higher than the predecessor 850 PRO series. Also, to meet the need for ever-faster data transfers and high performance over longer periods of time, the series integrates the company's Intelligent TurboWrite technology, which automatically decides how much space to allocate to the TurboWrite region in accordance with system workload. This enables the device to provide significantly accelerated write performance that is up to six times longer than the previous version of TurboWrite, which was integrated into the series.
