Powering high-current processors requires a flexible solution, and the Texas Instruments TPS53681 PMBus multiphase PWM buck controller offers this with dual output 6+2/5+3 phase configuration. This multiphase driverless controller is paired with the company's smart power stages for accurate current sensing, high power density, and excellent thermal performance using their PowerStack package that allows easy PCB layout, high noise immunity, and direct heatsinking into the PCB ground layers. The device is offered in a thermally enhanced 40-pin QFN packaged and is rated to operate from –40C to 125C.
