New thermistor with insulated tinned-copper leads eliminate conduction between leads

12-04-2018 | Ametherm | Test & Measurement

Ametherm has increased the capabilities of its ACCU-Curve series of interchangeable NTC thermistors with the ACL-011. This new device highlights insulated tinned-copper leads, assuring the most accurate temperature sensing with no unintended conduction between leads. The new device provides long-term stability and reliability for high-accuracy temperature sensing, control and compensation in industrial, medical, and automotive applications. The device provides interchangeability over a wide temperature range and removes the requirement to individually calibrate or produce circuit compensation for part variability. With a diameter of 1.524mm and 32AWG leads, the epoxy-coated thermistor features resistance at 25C of 50kOhm, has a tolerance of ±1%. The device offers Beta of 3950K, a dissipation constant of 3mW/C, maximum power rating of 50mW, and an operating temperature range of -40C to +125C. The device provides creators with faster, less-expensive alternatives to RTD probes and thermocouples with excellent accuracy. The company's thermistors achieve tight tolerances needed for accurate temperature measurement in critical medical instrumentation and can be potted in a mixture of housings for temperature compensation circuits in automotive and industrial applications.
