Available now from Mouser, the Wurth Electronics WE-MCRI SMD Moulded Coupled Inductors are claimed to be the first of its kind on the market with moulding technology. Two identical round wire-windings and moulded core provide a compact and attractive design of 10mm x 11.5mm x 9mm, with an excellent electrical and improved EMI-performance. These new WE-MCRI inductors offer up to 17A rated current and up to 43.5A saturation current. The special winding style of the products gives an excellent coupling coefficient of up to 0.995, which equates to far less leakage inductance. This coupled power inductor is an ideal solution for SEPIC and Cuk switching converters where high rated and saturation current with high-coupling coefficients are required. Typical applications include flyback converters with 1:1 turn ratio and step-up/step-down converters with secondary, isolated output voltage. Typical applications include isolated converters like flyback converters; Buck, Boost, Sepic, Zeta, CUK converters; and switching regulator with second and unregulated output voltage.
