New range of thermal imaging and test and measurement products for maintenance applications

RS Components has released a new series of thermal imaging and test and measurement products from FLIR. Primarily targeting electrical engineers and technicians, electricians, and those involved in maintenance applications, the products comprises an advanced thermal imaging camera as well as a wide selection of new handheld multifunction tools. Integrating FLIR’s Multi-Spectral Dynamic Imaging (MSX) technology, the FLIR E53 is the source of the FLIR professional range of handheld cameras, which brings thermal imaging within reach of most maintenance engineers and technicians requiring the capability to identify hot spots or other issues in buildings before they potentially lead to expensive repairs. The easy-to-use device is perfect for detecting the build-up of heat in electrical/mechanical applications and also delivers the resolution required to detect temperature changes that register a building deficiency such as inadequate insulation or moisture intrusion. Designed to endure tough environments, the unit has been built with a rugged and water-resistant design and has been drop-tested to a height of 2m. Other key features of the device include Wi-Fi connectivity; a five-megapixel camera; a vibrant 4" touchscreen with a 160-degree viewing angle; and a 240x180 resolution detector that gives more than 43,000 points of temperature measurement and a temperature range up to +650C. Also, the device’s agile user interface provides intuitive operation and useful features including one-touch level/span, allowing users to improve contrast on their target by touching the screen.
