Snap-in power aluminum capacitors save space and lower costs

18-05-2018 | Vishay | Passives

Vishay Intertechnology has introduced a new series of miniature snap-in power aluminum electrolytic capacitors. Ideal for solar inverters, power supplies, and industrial motor controls, the Vishay BCcomponents 259 PHM-SI series has 30% higher ripple current than previous-generation components with a long useful life. With ripple currents up to 4.42A, the devices enable designers to employ fewer components to save board space and lower costs. Their long useful life of 3,000 hours at 105C allow use in demanding applications needing more than 10 years of lifetime from capacitors in ambient temperatures to 60C. The devices feature a cylindrical aluminum case, insulated with a blue sleeve, with rated voltages to 500V in 25 compact case sizes ranging from 22mm x 25mm to 35mm x 60mm. The RoHS-compliant capacitors are also available with three-pin keyed polarity snap-in terminals.
