Hirose has developed a compact, flexible printed circuit (FPC) connector with a single-action lock designed for automatic assembly. Also, to simplify assembly, the space-saving FH62 Series FPC connector also eases the design process. Supporting USB 3.0, Embedded DisplayPort ver1.3 and MIPI D-PHY ver1.1 standards, the connector saves PCB space, essential in portable electronic applications. With a 0.25mm pitch, 1.1mm height and a width of 4mm, the connector allow a reduction in the size of medical, consumer, point-of-sale and other electronic devices. The series has a top contact design that offers excellent impedance characteristics and high-speed data transmission. The FPC connector design has a low-insertion force and a high-retention force for easy single action insertion. The rugged single-action lock design provides the reliability required in demanding portable electronic devices that regularly experience shock and vibration. The user-friendly connector also has wide guides for smooth FPC insertion. "Hirose continues to develop new and unique flexible printed circuit connectors designed to meet a wide range of application requirements," said Bill Kysiak, product marketing manager for Hirose Electric USA. "The single-action lock found in the FH62 Series eliminates the risk of latch damage during the assembly process and greatly improves assembly time." The series is offered in a 35-position version that is halogen-free and RoHS compliant.
