Mouser is stocking the 9FGV100x programmable PhiClock generator family of devices from IDT. The devices couple space savings, high performance and low power in a single, easy-to-use solution for next-generation data centre and networking designs based on PCIe Gen4 and future Gen5 requirements.
The generator family devices integrate crystal load capacitors and provide an optional integrated crystal to simplify plans and save board space. The family offers outstanding PCIe Gen4 performance along with excellent Ethernet performance with phase jitter as low as 225fs RMS at 156.25MHz (12kHz–20MHz). The very low power consumption of the devices (as low as 100mW at 1.8V) also enables placement closer to high-power components, allowing further board space savings. Also, all devices within the family support the upcoming 25G Extended Data Rate Cache Coherent Interconnect for Accelerators clocking standard.
The family of devices are underpinned by the PhiClock PCIe evaluation boards, which allow engineers to conveniently configure and program blank parts of the clock generators for prototyping. Each evaluation board is USB-powered and comes with a USB cable and the company’s free Timing Commander software. After connecting the board to a PC, engineers are able to use the software to communicate with the board for configuration and frequency validation. The boards are equipped with an onboard 25MHz crystal as a reference frequency, two SMA connectors, an I2C interface and three differential outputs.
