The Texas Instruments TS3USBCA4 is a passive 4:1 (TS3USBCA420) and 3:1 (TS3USBCA410) MUX supporting several types of differential or single-ended signals on the SBU1/SBU2 terminals of a USB Type-C connector to various interfaces. Those signals can be differential DisplayPort AUX, PCIe differential clock, analog audio MIC and AGND, or any other supported generic differential or single-ended signals.
The audio path highlights ultra-low ON-state resistance (RON), low crosstalk and excellent THD. The break-before-make feature stops signal distortion throughout signal transfer from one channel to another. The high-speed paths support bandwidth as high as 500MHz to give adequate support for PCIe clock, DisplayPort AUX, and other similar signals. Along with low power consumption, these features make this device ideal for portable audio applications.
The device's wide supply range from 2.4V to 5.5V provides users with the flexibility of powering it from a single-cell battery, a 3.3V regulator, or VBUS. It also gives options for both commercial and industrial temperature ranges.
