TVS ESD protection diode array designed for high-speed applications

11-10-2018 | Texas Instruments | Semiconductors

Texas Instruments ESD224 TVS ESD Protection Diode Array is a bidirectional array designed for high-speed applications including USB 3.0 and HDMI 2.0. The device is rated to dissipate ESD strikes at the maximum level defined in the IEC 61000-4-2 international standard (Level 4). The device uses on-chip differentially matched series elements to improve down-stream ESD clamping performance while supporting the signal compliance for high-speed interfaces. The ultra-low clamping performance and high differential bandwidth offered by the on-chip ESD protection network allows the device to be HDMI 2.0 compliant while giving robust protection to downstream HDMI devices. Typical applications for use in end equipment include set-top boxes, TV and monitors, laptops and desktops, DVD, Blue-ray, multimedia players; and interfaces in HDMI 2.0/1.4, Ethernet 10/100/1000 Mbps, and USB 3.0.
