Enhanced cable assembly for demanding microwave and RF applications

Intelliconnect has extended its cable assembly portfolio for high-frequency and mission-critical applications. Composed of high-quality cables, connectors and terminations, the highly reliable RF cable assembly products now include Low Loss, Semi-Rigid, Semi-Flex and Conformable versions. The microwave and RF cable assemblies are designed for a broad range of applications including marine, medical, defence/aero, microwave communications, oil and gas, rail traction, test and measurement, and more. The Low Loss phase stable flexible microwave cable assemblies satisfy some of the highest specifications available in the industry. The Semi-rigid cables are constructed using a solid metal outer conductor (usually copper or aluminium) that can be bent into shape as required. Semi-flexible cables provide a lighter, more flexible alternative to Semi-Rigid types and enable the cable to be flexed. Conformable or Hand Formable cable assemblies are perfect for applications that need cable to be formed at the time of installation without the need for bending tools. "While a few applications still exist for high volume cable assemblies, the majority are now low volume, custom designs for specialised products or systems and require close cooperation with system design engineers," said Roy Phillips, managing director of Intelliconnect USA.
