LiDAR dTOF ranging module for robotic and IoT applications

Mouser now offers the new TFS20-L single-point LiDAR module from Benewake. The module is a fully integrated, single-channel, direct time-of-flight (dToF) ranging mini-module for service robots, consumer drones, and Internet of Things (IoT) applications.

The module features a compact, lightweight design incorporating a highly sensitive infrared-enhanced SPAD sensor with a range of up to 20m for high-precision distance measurement under the most difficult lighting conditions. Many dToF sensors on robots only detect obstacles on a horizontal plane and are ineffective at detecting obstacles below the horizontal plane.

The module provides precise measurement data for surfaces with different reflectivity. It provides a sunlight resistance of 15m at 100 Klux and a reflectivity correction feature. The module uses a fully integrated SPAD chip solution, a histogram statistical algorithm, and a fast time-to-digital converter (TDC) architecture to provide stable and efficient operation.

The TFS20L LiDAR module supports I2C and UART interfaces and operates on a single 3.3V power supply with built-in temperature compensation. Its compact size, lightweight design, accurate and long-range measurement capabilities, and exceptional distance measurement performance under strong ambient light make it an outstanding choice for miniature dToF applications.
