Hylec-APL has launched the Debox SL2, a tool-free in-line junction box which has five approved lever connectors. The solution is claimed to be the smallest junction box with five poles on the market, and the only product provided complete with five screw-free terminals: each 32A lever connector can take up to three conductors.
The solution saves professional electrical contractors precious time and makes installation simpler for smaller and larger internal wiring projects, as everything required is provided with the box and there is no requirement to use a screwdriver to securely join wires. Due to its design, the solution ends the frustration of dropping tiny screws on the floor, which then have to be retrieved or not having required components on hand.
The solution is a registered design and ideal for joining either flat or round profile cable with a minimum conductor size of 0.5mm and a maximum of 2.5mm. It is easy to use - after inserting cables and closing the levers, the lid of the box is snapped shut and secured with the butterfly clip supplied. To allow the solution to be re-opened needs a tool, which meets current regulations.
The solution is flame retardant to UL940V 0 and conforms to the EN60598-1 (13.2.2) Glow Wire Test. The box measures a compact 116mm x 45mm x 33mm and is constructed from white polypropylene. With a temperature rating of -20C to +85C, it is maintenance-free and ideal for all internal applications.
