Foremost Electronics has announced the availability of the icotek new KEL-SCDP single cable entry plate. This simple to install and use grommet gives a very wide cable diameter clamping range from 5mm to 36mm.
The cable entry grommet affords single cables, hoses, and conduits without plugs to be routed through panels and sealed with a rating of IP65. Rigid cables may be installed at angles, and for railway technology applications there is a version approved for use in accordance with EN45545-2 HL3.
Once fitted to a panel, routing a cable is a very simple three-step process with no special tools needed. A small hole is pierced between the different diameter sealing rings, the single circular membrane is then peeled away to accommodate the specific diameter of the cable or hose to be inserted which is then pushed through the hole. The peeled-off area is always round, assuring a secure seal around the cable or hose.
The product is a very simple snap-in mount on to panels or enclosures and can be plugged into cut-outs with wall thicknesses from 1.5mm to 4mm without needing to employ any tools. Four panel cut out nominal diameters of 25mm, 32mm, 40mm and 50mm are offered and once installed it gives perfect edge protection and sealing to IP65.
Manufactured from grey (similar in colour to RAL 7035) UL94-V0, self-extinguishing, halogen and silicone-free, elastomer the gland has an operating temperature range from -40C to +80/+90C (static)
