BF-rated medical/ITE power supplies in compact size

Tumbler Technologies + TRUMPower has updated its line-up of AC/DC switching power supplies with the TWM150 series. The power supply can deliver 100W of continuous output power at convection and 150W maximum output with 10CFM of forced air cooling. The series is certified to the latest medical and ITE standards, making it a versatile power supply ideal for many applications.

The power supply series is offered in an open frame, U-Bracket, or enclosed form factor. The power supply units have high power density in footprints of 3” (L) x 2” (W) x 1.18” (H) for its open frame, 3” (L) x 2” (W) x 1.50” (H) for u-bracket and 3” (L) x 2” (W) x 1.54” (H) for the enclosed form factors. The power supply series has eight standard single output voltages between 12V and 54V.

The series power supplies work between 90-264VAC at ambient temperatures ranging from -20C to 70C, with full power available up to +50C at 10CFM and +40C at convection. They have an active efficiency of 92% minimum at full load. They can operate at 5,000m maximum altitude for ITE grade applications and 3,000m maximum altitude for medical-grade purposes. The power supplies are BF rated and have a withstand voltage specified at 4,000VAC from input-output (2 x MOPP), 1,500VAC from input-ground and 1,500VAC from output-ground. The power supply’s 250,000 hours-minimum MTBF at full load at 25C ambient temperature calculated per Bellcore TR-332 makes it an extremely reliable power supply.

The device is certified to the latest UL/IEC/EN 60601-1 Edition 3.1 medical standards and adheres to ITE Standards of UL/IEC/EN 62368-1 2nd Edition. The power supply complies with IEC/EN 60601-1-2 4th edition medical EMC and immunity standards, including EN 55011 class B, EN 55032 class B, EN 55024, FCC part 15 class B, and FCC part 18 class B.
