Mouser now stocks the new i.MX RT106S crossover processor from NXP Semiconductors. Offering an advanced implementation of the Arm Cortex-M7 core, the processor provides the high CPU performance and real-time response needed for embedded local voice assistant applications and IoT, smart industrial, and smart appliance applications.
The processor is part of the EdgeVerse edge computing platform. The processor runs up to 600MHz and features 1MB of on-chip SRAM and support for advanced multimedia in GUI and enhanced HMI applications. The processor is licensed to run NXP’s range of turnkey voice assistant software solutions, supplying engineers with a variety of capabilities and features, such as a phoneme-based speech recognition engine. The processor possesses low-power performance as well as real-time, low-latency response as low as 20ns.
To support designers who need to swiftly and easily add voice assistant capabilities to new product designs, the company also stocks the NXP SLN-LOCAL2-IOT Solution for Local Voice Control. Providing an onboard i.MX RT106S processor plus automatic speech recognition engine supporting over 100 voice commands, the solution circumvents cloud-based computing to offer a privacy-first solution for offline voice assistants. The solution provides a cost-optimised reference design and production-ready software development kit to lessen time-to-market and development effort.
