High-speed fuses in square body offer fast-acting performance

The Littelfuse PSX series high-speed fuses provide very fast-acting performance up to 1500VDC. They are available now from TTI Europe. The fuses are offered in flush-end, DIN-mount, and bolted-blade styles. They are the smallest NH XL package size on the market and range from 80A to 1400A. The series is exceptionally fast-acting with 200kA DC interrupting ratings. They are certified to UL 248-13 and created to meet EN high-speed semiconductor fuse standard and IEC 60269-7, a new battery protection fuse standard in development.

The series offers low watt loss (energy efficiency for BESS applications). They hold Class aR performance according to IEC 60269-4. The low watts loss prevents energy loss, making them more efficient, minimising wasted power from components. The small package facilitates the design of smaller or more compact high energy density systems. Its visual blown fuse indication is detectable in the event of a fault, and the high interrupting rating provides improved protection levels.

Typical areas of application include battery energy storage systems, power conversion systems, DC common bus systems, industrial heaters and welding equipment, hybrid PV-BESS inverters, regenerative drives, and metal processing equipment.
