M12 GND modules developed for transportation applications

HARTING Han M12 GND Modules, available now from Mouser, provide the same dimensions and features as the previous Han M12 module but incorporate a grounding (GND) spring plate attached to the module. This GND spring plate creates an electrical connection from the shield of the M12 insert to the hinged frames, producing a grounded shield. All other technical elements and outer dimensions of the modules match the pre-existing M12 module, making them 100% mating compatible.

The existing D-coded and X-coded M12 inserts are appropriate, meaning the shield will be connected to the ground potential of the hinged frames. The inserts with a metal nut can be utilised in these GND modules (these inserts are recommended for use in Han M12 GND modules only).

The modules are intended for transportation applications. These modules help to integrate Ethernet or other bus connections into modular connectors. They can be employed as space-saving alternatives to Han-Quintax, Han Gigabit, or Han Megabit modules.
