Ultra-low quiescent wide input voltage LDO for automotive systems

Diodes Incorporated has released the AP7387Q LDO linear voltage regulator. The device provides a maximum output current of 150mA, a wide input voltage of 5V to 60V, and a dropout voltage of 700mV (typical) at a 100mA output current. It offers engineering teams a simple-to-implement PoL solution for automotive audio, navigation, transmission control units, taillights, and battery management systems.

The device's quiescent current is only 2µA – lower than many competing devices. This is crucial in systems perpetually connected to a battery, enabling extended runtime. Also, with a high-power supply rejection ratio of 70dB at 1kHz, the device is optimised for noise-sensitive functions. The LDO also displays a fast line/load transient response against rapid input voltage or load current changes.

Thanks to its wide input voltage, the device fulfils the load dump specifications of 12V ICE vehicles such as cars, and 24V ICEs such as buses, coaches, and trucks.

The LDOs are AEC-Q100 Grade 1 qualified, manufactured in IATF 16949 certified facilities, and support PPAP documentation.
