Reliable and economical connectors offer alternative to conventional compression lugs

Amphenol offers the SurLok Plus series, a highly reliable alternative to conventional compression lugs, available now from Rutronik. With protection class IP67, it is an environmentally sealed version of the original SurLok series. This makes it excellent for usage in harsh, demanding environments. Energy storage, e-mobility, process control, and heavy equipment are this connector's key markets and applications.

The connector series is offered in smaller sizes (3.6mm, 5.7mm, and 8mm) than its predecessor, and provides a quick-lock and press-to-release design. Since Amphenol employs industry standards for the crimp, screw, and busbar connection options, no further investment in special torque tools is needed. This combination provides for straightforward on-site installation.

Three different colours (red, black, orange) and other mechanical coding options allow multiple connectors to be employed side by side without the risk of reverse polarity.

Key features of the 3.6mm variant are a rated current of 50A to 70A, with male, female/rectangular options. They feature flat, busbar (20°) or 10mm2 (70A).

Application examples include EV/HEV, rail passenger transport, medical technology, battery management systems, and energy storage.
