Crystal Display Systems has launched its 8.01" Flexible AMOLED display, a technological innovation developed to satisfy the growing demand for versatile, high-performance display solutions across various industrial sectors.
Flexible AMOLED technology significantly advances display design, replacing conventional rigid glass substrates with flexible polyimide films. This transition permits the displays to bend, fold, and roll without compromising performance. Unlike traditional displays, Flexible AMOLED technology retains the core benefits of AMOLED, such as self-emissive pixels, high contrast ratios, and vibrant colours, while introducing superior mechanical flexibility and enhanced durability.
The new display has been meticulously engineered to deliver outstanding performance, making it an ideal solution for innovative industrial applications.
Key specifications include a flexible AMOLED with in-cell CTP for thinner, more responsive screens. A resolution of 2840 x 1860 pixels provides sharp, detailed visuals. A brightness of 600 nits offers optimal visibility in varying lighting conditions. The display offers a colour depth of 16.7 million colours with 99% colour gamut coverage for accurate and vibrant imagery. The contrast Ratio of 400,000:1, ensures deep blacks and brilliant whites. It includes a MIPI high-speed interface commonly used in modern display technologies.
The display has dimensions of 165.69mm (H) x 137.92mm (V) x 0.34mm (D) with an active area of 162.69mm (H) x 122.02mm (V), and the operating temperature range covers -40C to +80C, allowing reliable operation in extreme environments.
This display employs self-emissive pixels, eradicating the necessity for a backlight. As a result, it delivers excellent contrast and vibrant colours while lowering power consumption – critical for battery-operated devices. The polyimide substrate provides flexibility and increased mechanical stress resistance, providing long-term reliability even in demanding applications.
"The 8.01" Flexible AMOLED display is a testament to our ongoing commitment to technological advancement," said Anthony Large, technical director at Crystal Display Systems. "By introducing this flexible and high-performance display, we aim to support industries in developing innovative and resilient solutions that meet the demands of modern applications."
The display is well-suited to automotive displays, wearable technology, industrial equipment, and consumer electronics.
