Adding SiC and IGBTs creates industry’s largest library of LTspice models

ROHM has expanded the library of SPICE model lineup for LTspice of its circuit simulator. LTspice is supplied with circuit diagram capture and waveform viewer functions that enable designers to check and verify in advance whether the circuit operation has been accomplished as designed. As well as the existing lineup of bipolar transistors, diodes, and MOSFETs, the company has added SiC power devices and IGBTs, increasing its number of LTspice models to more than 3,500 for discretes. This brings the amount of coverage of models on its website to over 80% of all products – supplying greater convenience to designers when utilising circuit simulators that include discrete products, now including power devices.

“The expansion of this tool enhances ROHM’s customer support sustainably,” states Aly Mashaly, director Application and Technical Solution Center in Europe.

In recent years, the growing use of circuit simulation for circuit design has increased the number of tools used. Among these, LTspice is an appealing option for many users, from students to even seasoned engineers. To support these and other users, the company has expanded its library of models for discrete products.

Besides product pages, the company has added a Design Models page that permits simulation models to be downloaded directly. Documentation on how to add libraries and create symbols (schematic symbols) is also provided to aid circuit design and simulation execution.
