The DS2432P+ is a 1-Wire EEPROM with a built-in SHA-1 engine, delivering robust data protection and secure storage solutions. Manufactured by Maxim Integrated and available now from WIN SOURCE, the component is developed to meet the rigorous demands of modern electronic systems, ensuring data integrity and security across a wide range of applications.

The device provides 1024 bits of EEPROM memory, partitioned into four pages of 256 bits each, a 64-bit write-only secret and up to five general-purpose read/write registers. This architecture supplies ample storage for secure data management, making it excellent for applications demanding tamper-proof data carriers, intellectual property security, and after-market management of consumables.

One of the device's standout features is its on-chip 512-bit ISO/IEC 10118-3 SHA-1 engine. This engine can compute 160-bit MACs, offering high security for data transmissions. The device's ability to generate secrets and compute MACs ensures that only authorised entities can access or modify the stored data.

The device operates over a wide voltage range of 2.8V to 5.25V, making it compatible with various system power requirements. The component is also designed to function reliably across a wide temperature range, from -40C to +85C, providing consistent performance even in challenging environments.

This EEPROM is housed in a compact six-lead TSOC surface-mount package, making it ideal for space-constrained applications. The 1-Wire interface simplifies integration into existing systems, decreasing the necessity for additional control, address, data, and power lines. It also supports communication speeds up to 15.3kbps, with an overdrive mode that boosts this speed to 90.9kbps, improving data transfer efficiency in high-performance applications.

The device is a versatile component that finds its place in diverse applications. It is particularly suited to industries where data security and authenticity are paramount, such as automotive systems, industrial automation, and consumer electronics. Its ability to decrease control and data lines to a single pin makes it an excellent option for designs where space and simplicity are critical.

Whether used in tamper-proof data carriers or as part of a larger intellectual property security system, the device delivers unmatched reliability and performance. Its combination of EEPROM memory and SHA-1 engine makes it a crucial component for engineers and designers looking to improve the security and integrity of their electronic systems.
