Back flip FPC/FFC is designed for rugged spaced-constrained applications

Hirose has extended its back flip FPC/FFC connector, including a 0.5mm pitch version with dual contact functionality to simplify flex routing. The space-saving TF07V Series has a height of just 2.1mm, making it perfect for consumer electronics, industrial robotics, and medical applications that need connectivity solutions combining miniaturisation and ruggedisation.

As well as high reliability, the top and bottom contact design delivers board design flexibility and ease of assembly while the back flip design increases the FPC/FFC retention in the vertical direction.

Compared to front flip connectors, the back flip connector delivers a higher retention force and excellent protection during installation. With the back flip design, the series is provided with the actuator open. Mating is completed in two simple steps of FPC/FFC insertion and closing the actuator.

“The TF07V Series back flip FPC/FFC connector offers space-savings that enables a reduction in size of electronic devices without sacrificing performance and durability,” said Pete Lais, assistant vice president of Product Management for Hirose Electric Americas. “The TF07V Series design all but eliminates dust from causing contact failure. The back flip design is impervious to debris, ensuring the prevention of any unexpected actuator openings after installation.”

The series is available in 30, 40, 50 and 60 positions.
